  • Hi, That was a great tutorial and explanation. Its urgent. I am stuck with 430 forbidden error when I run django server and try to login with my registered credentials. Any idea how to resolve it? If anyone else faced it and resolved it?

  • Awesome – just what I was looking for. Note for anyone not very familiar with Django – at the end of section 5 there is no db.sqlite3 database and then it magically appeared at the start of section 6, you need to run python manage.py makemigrations in your bash terminal, this may be reflected on later in the video but I'm adding it here just in case 🙂

  • I am stuck at 8:40:00 getting 403 Forbidden error even if I am logged in and csrf token is also passing correctly.
    Firstly it was not working and then it worked automatically without changing any code and then now again it is not working .
    I don't know what's happening .
    Anyone can guide me through ?

  • Hi guys I have a question about my django project if theres anyone that can help me that would be much appreciated!

    Basically I am building my portfolio website, and wanted to add a contact form in root project,(the project that django gives you when runserver for the first time) Normally what I would is create a seperate app and add a contact form there, since I have the models.py, admin.py and forms.py within there, I can create a link from my home page to go to there. Now I tried the same thing I mentioned above, created an app with my contact form and linked it to my home page. In my contact.views I tried to use the redirect method after the form is saved and refreshed as you can see in my code below:

    from django.shortcuts import render,redirect

    from .forms import ContactForm

    # Create your views here.

    def contact_view(request):

    if form.is_valid():

    return redirect('home')

    context={'form':form,'contact':'Contact Me'}

    return render(request,template_name,context)

    def redirect_view(request):

    return redirect('home')

    return render(request,template_name,context)

    I am trying to redirect my contact form to my redirect page post submission

    In my urls.py within my contact app I named 'contact':

    from.views import contact_view,redirect_view

    from django.urls import path

    urlpatterns = [

    In my home.html where my navbar is I connected the contact tab to lead to the contact view page using "{% url 'contact' %}", this doesnt work, it only works if I remove the redirect command in my contact view( and takes me to the contact page) but I dont know why it doesnt work with the redirect method as I am only redirecting them after its been cleaned? Can someone please help me?

  • Currently Stuck on Part 99. Anyone else getting the following error?

    "TypeError: Cannot read property 'first_name' of undefined"

    This is when I'm creating the {tweet.user.first_name} in the <p> tags. The same goes with last_name & username. I guess the user is undefined, but I'm not really sure how to define it. Justin doesn't have the error come up and it works for him. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

  • Around the stage of integrating the react project to django I got stuck at error 403. Turns out django's SessionAuthentication was acting out and sessionid cookie was not being set along with my requests. I wasn't able to really fix the problem but I made a workaround so I could continue with learning. Posting it because scrolling through the comments I saw some people being stuck at this as well. It's definitely not something you would want to do in production.

    – install python package django-session-header.

    -add some stuff in settings.py:
    from corsheaders.defaults import default_headers

    CORS_ALLOW_HEADERS = list(default_headers) + [

    in MIDDLEWARE , replace 'django.contrib.sessions.middleware.SessionMiddleware' with 'django_session_header.middleware.SessionMiddleware' and 'django.middleware.csrf.CsrfViewMiddleware' with 'django_session_header.middleware.CsrfViewMiddleware'
    in DEFAULT_AUTHENTICATION_CLASSES for REST_FRAMEWORK, replace 'rest_framework.authentication.SessionAuthentication' with 'django_session_header.authentication.SessionAuthentication'

    – in the lookup function in react app add some stuff to the xhr object:
    const sessionid = getCookie('sessionid')

    xhr.setRequestHeader('X-SessionID', sessionid)

    xhr.withCredentials = true

    This way, the sessionid cookie will be sent in the request and hopefully it will be accepted.

  • when i try
    'python manage.py runserver ', it gives me
    "…Error: [WinError 10013] An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions"
    but I can run in 8080 port. is there a problem with 8000? please help

  • Why do you said in the beginning of the video that you have to know Django and Js? when you clearly started with them from absolute zero.It's a good tutorial, but I thinks you could have cut a few hours of content if you had stuck with what you said in the beginning.Also for an absolute beginner, it's cleary not productive to start with both Django and React.

  • I am doing 3:07:23 part rn Associate user to object. I am getting bad request 400 even after i did everything as in video. I print out the request.POST but it does not have 'user' attribute (when i use home page html form). But when i try the same from
    /tweetform (django form) it works because i can select the user there. Please help.

    Ps: I narrowed down the problem to form.is_valid(). Idk why it is not valid and why the 'user' attribute not being added to request queryset dict.
